Westmont Properties employees are a highly qualified and experienced team of real estate professionals. Our investment team brings together a combination of individuals who specialize in various aspects of real estate management, investment, valuation, acquisition and disposition. The following individuals are all readily available to lend their particular expertise towards implementing management strategies, recommending solutions for turning around problem properties or simply helping our clients achieve their investment objectives.
Phillip W. Storms, President, CEO
Phillip Storms entered the financial services business in 1979 after a 20-year career as a research chemist. He formed his own real estate firm in 1980 after receiving his real estate broker license. During the past 20 years, he has been involved as a broker or principal in over 5000 real estate transactions. These transactions vary in size from a $10,000 building site to $5-million officeindustrial building. Over the years he has been involved in continuing education activities and has been designated as a Certified Financial Planning Practitioner (CFP), and a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM). In 1994, he was awarded a Masters degree in applied communications from the University of Denver.
Phil has been an active writer throughout his career, publishing numerous articles, newspaper columns, and a 60,000-word volume on real estate investing for CCH Publishing. The Journal of Financial Planning has appointed him to their editorial review board. He is also a frequent guest on Real Money, a Sunday morning call in show on 760 KTLK. Susan V. Storms, Vice President, Chief Operating Officer
Susan Storms received her undergraduate education at the University of Missouri where she majored in journalism and communications. For the past 17 years, she has been employed at Westmont Companies where she acquired a wide variety of real estate related experience to include loan processing, bookkeeping, real estate and loan closings, real estate sales, and property management. Since 2001 she has been in charge of the day-to-day operations of the company. She currently oversees the mortgage and property management divisions and is responsible for the overall profitability of the organization. Susan is in the process of obtaining her Residential Management Professional (RMP) education and hopes to add this designation to her resume in 2008.
James Gerhart, Field Operations Manager.
Before joining Westmont Properties in 2002, James Gerhart worked in the manufacturing industry. Virtually all of these positions were in a technical/engineering capacity resulting in a strong background in quality management, process control, and facilities maintenance. In order to prepare for a career in real estate, he has completed courses in real estate brokerage and appraisal. He is now a registered appraiser, and licensed real estate broker. In 2003, Jim obtained his Equity Marketing Specialists designation. Jim has become an expert in marketing 1031 exchanges with an excess of 5 million dollars in residential and commercial property sales and exchanges in the last 4-years alone.
Because of his technical and maintenance background, Jim was also designated field operations manager for the property management company. He oversees tenant acquisition activity, inspections, maintenance, and property improvement projects. He assembles market data required to keep owners informed of issues that relate to the value of their properties.
